Gallstone related problems constitute a significant workload in surgical practice. This picture shows two gall stones retrieved during a gall bladder removal surgery. There are basically three types of gall stones, which are cholesterol stones, pigments tones and mixed stones. This picture shows two mixed stones.
Gall stones may cause symptoms when they are in the gallbladder. A significant number of patients may be asymptomatic. They can cause inflammation of the gallbladder called Cholecystitis. They can also come out of the gallbladder and cause complication when they enter the bile ducts or the duct of the pancreas.
